In honor of the *traditional* rodeo kickoff, I am hosting a virtual cook-along! This month's recipe feels a little bit Texan + rodeo.

About The Event
I was so excited to move back to Houston last summer, and even more excited to take my husband to the Rodeo this year- it's quite literally his first rodeo. 😅 Not shocking, the rodeo has been pushed back to May now... and let's be honest at this rate it's probably not gonna happen 😬 Take my trips and parties from me COVID, but don't take my deep fried oreos and mutton bustin' 😡
In honor of the *traditional* rodeo kickoff, I am hosting another virtual cook-along! This month's recipe feels a little bit Texan + rodeo, and is super yummy/unique!
Ingredients:
-3 Slices of Bacon
-Butter
-1 Cup of Pecans (Texas pecans recommended!)
-Brown Sugar
-Worcestershire Sauce
-Yellow Mustard
-3 Pears (1 pair will be used in the cocktail pairing!)
-Brie Cheese (8 oz)
-Flour Tortillas (2-4, depending on how many you want to eat or save for later!)
To Pair With:
Texas Sangria
Drink Ingredients:
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon orange extract
1 teaspoon Angostura bitters
1 cup water
3/4 cup Whiskey
3.5 ounce Texas honey Austin East Cider
1 1/2 cups Spanish red wine (I will be using Marques de Caceres Rioja Crianza)
1 apple, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 orange, quartered and thinly sliced
1 pear, cut into bite-sized pieces
Food Allergies:
Please be aware this recipe contains nuts if you have any nut allergies! This meal is not vegetarian/vegan friendly! For vegan or vegetarian attendees, I recommend replacing the bacon with Morningstar Farms veggie breakfast bacon frozen strips and using Earth Balance Butter + using Urban Cheesecraft's Brie cheese.
Process:
Join us on Zoom in your kitchen with all of your ingredients ready! We will prepare, chop, & cook all of the ingredients together :) Zoom link to be emailed to all ticket holders the day of. After we cook our meals, we can enjoy them with a glass of sangria over Zoom. I plan to keep these events to around an hour.
I'm looking forward to cooking up some new recipes with y'all and hopefully some friendships too 😅
