Cooking Is A Challenge Series: Beef Wellington Zoom Event!

Let's Get In The Kitchen!

Unfortunately, I am much too kind to get in your face and scream "This is raw!" like Gordon Ramsey... and this is Zoom, not Hell's Kitchen 🤷🏼‍♀️ However, we will be tempting to make Beef Wellington just the same!

I recently decided that if we're going to do all of these Zoom classes and events, why not spice things up a bit? Sure, it's fun and "easy" to pour some wine and boil pasta from the comfort of our kitchens but if we're going to risk further Zoom fatigue we might as well get a bit more out of it!

This is my first of many in my bi-weekly Zoom series: "Cooking Is A Challenge" - where we cook some difficult recipes together over Zoom! As an incentive for y'all to actually show up (Because Zoom is one of those things where the more the merrier), I will be giving a real deal trophy at the end of the year to everyone who attends at least half of these cooking zooms. Sure, it's not the best prize ever but it's something to brag about on social media - and maybe your cooking will improve immensely in the process 🤞🏼

For this Zoom, you will need to purchase the following ingredients:

For the Beef Wellington:

-2-3 pound Beef Fillet Mignon

-Salt + Pepper

-2 tbsp Canola Oil

-Dijon Mustard

-0.5 pound Prosciutto di Parma

-1 Egg Yolk

-1 tbsp Whole Milk

-1 sheet Puff Pastry (Thawed)

For the Sauce:

-8oz Blackberries

-3/4 cup Red Wine

-3/4 cup Chicken Stock

-1 tbsp Honey

-2 tbsp Blackberry Jam (seedless)

-2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

-Salt + Pepper

Optional Side:

Side of Garlic Mushrooms

-2 tbsp White Wine

-1 tbsp Olive Oil

-4 cloves minced Garlic

-1 tsp Thyme

-1 pound Button Mushrooms

-4 tbsp Unsalted Butter

-Salt + Pepper
